Product Showcase: Dragon Figurines
Orange Dragon on Rune-Sword Statue
This one will make your mind feel confused in terms of scale. This figurine is that of deep orange colored dragon coiling itself around an ornate runic sword. Your mind will tell you that dragon are massive creatures with wingspans that could stretch as wide and far –but the fact that it is pretty much circling around the hilt of a sword makes you wonder if this is a small dragonling who is attracted by the magic of the sword, or if the sword if a gigantic monument that a massive dragon has taken roost on.
Black Dragon on Rune-Sword Statue
This figurine is basically a palette swap of the Orange Dragon on Rune-Sword Statue. SO it is obviously cast from the same mold but gets a different paint job. While the previous dragon seem more fiery and alive in appearance, the black dragon variants feels a lot more ominous and foreboding in its look. While the poses are exactly the same, the way that the black color mutes out a lot of the dragon’s details make it seem even more imposing. Of course, since this one is pretty much all blacks and grays, you may want to consider the lighting conditions when you display this dragon.
Black Dragon on LED Lit Castle Statue
This is a figurine of a dragon mounted on top of a castle while it breathes fire towards the castle entrance. Is it trying to attack the castle? Is it trying to fend off invaders from getting in? The visual imagery provides a good deal of story for interpretation and this makes it a wonderful thinkpiece. Of course, you will want to mount this display someplace with just enough light to make the dragon easy to discern, but still dim enough to make the fire effect LED glow visibly.
Green Dragon and Hoard LED Statue
Much like Tolkien’s mythical Smaug, this dragon lays roost upon a great pile of treasure –and taking particular preference for one specific treasure chest filled with glowing contents. The LED light provides a great effect here –the green of the dragon looks a little out of place without the yellow light in its belly giving the color contrast some semblance of visual balance. Much like the figurine above, it is important to consider the lighting conditions when displaying this statue.
Green Dragon and Treasure Hoard Statue
This is a non-LED version of the same figurine as above and as such, you lose the effect of the yellowish LED light on the dragon. This is not a bad thing though, the figurine is exquisitely painted and the entire piece has been given wonderful highlights. We also love the way that the dragon’s tail also curves around the stone spire, as it makes the whole figurine feel more composed.
Castle Guardian Black Dragon Statue
This figurine features a castle high atop a spiraling cliff with a river flowing below. There is a long set of winding stairs leading up to the towering castle. This tower-ish structure is tall and narrow, making it less imposing than castle with wide walls and instead, makes it feel more arcane in style. Dwarfing this massive castle is an even larger black dragon whose length from nose to tail all but wraps around the tall castle and the cliff it is built on. The way the dragon seems to greedily guard the castle with its body language and the menacing sight of its open maw above the entrance instantly shows why this castle needs no soldiers to guard it.
Gold and Green Dragon and Castle Statue
The violent waves of water crash upon the open gates of this castle, which appears to have been built on a rocky seaside bank. The jagged stones pool upward as they form the base of the multi-turreted castle. The fort’s brown and gray walls are accented by yellow gilded entryways and windows, complimenting the color of the dragon that stands guard around it. The large golden dragon curls around the castle, with dark green streaks giving highlight to its wings and body scales. The way that the dragon’s wings curl inwards towards the castle tells you that it will not let any unwanted visitors pass.
Black Dragon on Nights Castle Statue
The stark whiteness of the snow-capped castle provides a contrast to the heavyset black of the dragon’s scales. The castle is situated on a snow covered peak, with a pavement of uneven stones creating a narrow passageway between jutting plates of rocks covered in frost. This incredibly tall castle supports the full weight of the dragon which is mounted on its uppermost spire, giving you a great view of the main castle body and the dragon itself. The dragon’s slightly upturned wing and softly coiled tail gives it a feeling of movement, as if the dragon is slowly circling around as it ensure that none would dare come close.
Perched Blue Waterfall Dragon Statue
As a small gentle waterfall seems to magically come from the within a tall rocky spire, a huge blue dragon stands above it, as if to guard the magical water and the pool down below. Well, the pool also seeps off to a small stream to the side, but the dragon only seems to care about the source of the water and the immediate pool. The fact that the dragon is also blue gives this figurine a story in itself, linking the elemental trait of the dragon and magical waters through color association.
Dragon Crouching On Big Dragon Skull Statue
It makes one wonder what why a black dragon would posture above the skull of a much larger dragon (the skull is as large as the black dragon itself). Perhaps it is a kill that the smaller dragon is immensely proud of and the giant skull now serves as its lair and trophy. Or perhaps it is the revered remains of an older and more ancient race of dragons and the black dragon’s possessiveness is a sign of loyalty or respect. Regardless of how you interpret it, this dragon figurine is both impressive and imposing in terms of detail and design.
